Patients are also able to receive their chemotherapy in the Ambulatory Care Center. Our chemotherapy chairs are of the highest quality to ensure our patients’ comfort, and our ambulatory care nurses have all been trained in chemotherapy and biotherapy.
Why shouldn't I do this as an inpatient?
Utilizing the Ambulatory Care Center is more cost-effective because most insurance plans would not cover these procedures as an inpatient. Also, your treatment can be completed more quickly in this setting.
What if I have questions?
Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you find answers to your questions. Be sure to call us prior to your procedure with any questions or concerns that you might have. It is your right to understand everything that is happening with your care.
What can my family do while they wait?
Family members are welcome in the pre-procedure and post-procedure areas with you. During the procedure, they are welcome in our waiting area where we will provide coffee and juice.
Is the nursing staff qualified to handle emergencies?
Yes. All nurses are ACLS certified, which means that they are specially trained to handle emergency situations and are regularly tested on their knowledge.
Is this covered by Medicare? Medicaid?
Wayne HealthCare participates in the Medicare and Ohio Medicaid, TRICARE, and Bureau of Worker's Compensation programs. Please check with your individual insurance carrier to see what requirements they may have, or if they participate with Wayne HealthCare.
What if I have an allergic reaction to something?
Our nursing staff is trained to handle emergency situations, and the center is fully stocked with emergency medication and equipment.
