Nutrition Services Department
The Department of Nutrition Services provides our patients with many nutrition-related services including the preparation of the meals your doctor has requested to meet your basic needs. The basic diets we use are:
- Cholesterol - restricted diet
- Sodium - restricted diet
In some cases, elements of these diets are also combined by doctors’ orders. Education for these diets and combinations is available as an inpatient or as a scheduled outpatient.
Meal service is available in the dining room Monday through Friday at the following times:
- Breakfast – 6:30 am to 8:30 am
- Lunch – 11:00 am to 1:30 pm
- Dinner – 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm
*Vending service is available 24 hours a day.
The Department of Nutrition Services is also available for those patients looking to draw on our knowledge and clinical skill regarding the conditions and dietary needs listed below:
- Cardiac rehabilitation
- Weight management
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Enteral and parental feeding
- Other restricted diets
In addition, we can assist our patients through public speaking, teaching and education services. Our department can provide topics that would fit the general population group you wish to reach, and can also develop in-service training programs.
We further support our neighbors as an active participant in Meals On Wheels, a service that delivers meals to people in our community who are in need of assistance.
