Microbiology Supervisor

1st Shift | Full-Time | Laboratory

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a Medical Lab Scientist certification desired; Associate Degree/MLT required.
• Three + years of clinical laboratory experience with at least 1 year concentrated in microbiology high complexity testing.
• Previous supervision desired

?RESPONSIBILITIES

• Is responsible for providing day-to-day supervision of Microbiology test performance of testing personnel
• Knowledge of JCAHO and CLIA regulatory standards affecting laboratory services.
• Is responsible for monitoring test analyses and specimen examinations to ensure that acceptable levels of analytic performance are maintained.
• Reviews patient results daily or on return to work.
• Reviews and revises Microbiology SOPM as needed for presentation to Technical Supervisor
• Assists with staff evaluations
• Ensures that patient test results are not reported until all corrective actions have been taken.
• Successful completion of  orientation to the position
• Cross-training to all areas of the lab will occur over time and the ability to then assist in all areas of the lab is required as needed
• All other jobs as assigned
