Senior Director of Human Resources

Job Title: Senior Director of Human Resources

Responsible To: CEO

Definition: Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be responsible for the daily operation of the Human Resources department. This hands on position oversees the HR office staff and the Director of Volunteer Services. The Sr. Director of Human Resources will partner with the leadership team to define, create, and lead the talent and development efforts, fostering a culture of committed leaders, manager, and employees that are capable of supporting the growth and success of Wayne HealthCare.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Human Resources or Organizational Development) required. A Master’s degree is preferred
  • Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification is strongly desired
  • Ten plus years of experience in Human Resources with three plus year in leadership is required
  • Experience with a union environment is strongly desired
  • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Management platform is desired but not required
  • Prior experience with the management of employee benefits is required
  • Prior experience with surveying agencies

  • Excels in planning, forecasting and replenishing vital needs

Responsibilities:

  • Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, performance appraisal, and employee incentive programs
  • Ensures compliance with employment, benefits, insurance, safety, and other laws and regulations
  • Routine updating of the HR policies, procedures, functions and activities
  • Actively engage with leadership as a change agent in the provision of solutions that support organizational and cultural cohesion while enhancing overall business performance
  • Attend meeting and participate on committees as required
  • Attend seminars, workshops and professional affiliation meetings
  • Responsible for the union activities among the unionized employees
  • Acts as an advisor to all department heads with regard to all employee related items
  • Participates within the community on Boards
  • Oversee the Director of Volunteer Services
  • Support operational excellence initiatives
  • Responsible for the human resources chapter of the Healthcare Facility Accreditation Program (HFAP) during surveys
  • Responsible for the development and annual review of the facility Succession Plan
  • Responsible for the analysis and presentation for approval of the annual competitive compensation plan
  • Participate in regional and state annual wage surveys
  • Responsible for recruitment, hiring, orienting, engagement and performance of employees
  • Staying on top of trends within human resources and implementing those that strategically align with the organization
  • Ensuring the timely payment of all vendor statements
  • Develops the annual department budget
  • Member of the negotiation team during union negotiations
