Billing

We recognize the complexity of the billing process and various payment methods, and will gladly assist you in understanding your bill or setting up a payment arrangement. You can also reference the Billing FAQ.

After your visit to Wayne HealthCare, you will receive a bill and an explanation of benefits (EOB) for services rendered. You can also obtain a detailed statement of charges upon request. Please note that you may receive several different bills from one visit to Wayne HealthCare. For example, you may see separate bills for your hospital stay, physician, and any other professional services such as radiology and anesthesia.

Financial Assistance and payment arrangement options are available through Wayne HealthCare. If for any reason you are unable to fulfill your payment arrangements, you may be contacted by a 3rd party billing company.  For more information, please reference the Patient and Third Party Billing Collections Policy

Cost of Services

Wayne HealthCare has historically publicly displayed hospital charges for its most common procedures online, labeled Price List. The Requirement for Transparency of Hospital Charges Rule in the Affordable Care Act requires hospitals to make public their standard charges (chargemaster) for items and services provided.

Cost Estimation Tool

Disclaimer: The hospital's charges for the above services are approximated charges for these services based on information provided at the time of estimation and do not include charges associated with physician services for which you will be billed separately. The final amount of the hospital's charge may be different from that shown due to additional tests or procedures performed/ordered by the physician(s) or medical technicians, or due to complications that may arise during the course of treatment. Therefore, the total amount for which you will be responsible may be higher or lower than that stated. You will receive a statement of charges with a reference of payment and/or discount; you may have a balance owed or a refund due.

Additional Resources

The information provided is a comprehensive list of charges for each inpatient and outpatient service or item provided by a hospital, also known as a chargemaster. The charge listed in the chargemaster is generally not the amount a patient will pay. If you have health insurance, the amount you will be billed and expected to pay for services depends on your specific health insurance coverage. For more information about the cost of your care or if you do not have health insurance and want to find out more about the hospital's Financial Assistance Policy, please contact our patient financial services staff (937) 547-5770.

Insurance

Wayne HealthCare strives to make the billing process as easy as possible. After your visit, we will bill your insurance and you will receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurance provider explaining how much was paid on your account. Depending on the type of insurance you have, you may be billed the remaining balance.

We do accept most major insurance carriers, including United Healthcare. For questions about insurance coverage and specific plan products including Medicare, please contact your insurance carrier directly.

We strive to make sure you receive the full benefits of your insurance coverage and consideration under our financial assistance programs, if applicable.
