Controller

Definition:

Reporting directly to the CFO, this position will be responsible for the general accounting functions including completion of the month-end close process, weekly and monthly financial reporting and responsibility for the budgeting process. Ensuring compliance with all regulating agencies will be critical in this role. This position supervises three departments.

Education & Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required. Master’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Minimum 4 years experience in health care accounting preferred
  • Experience in reimbursement, internal audit, budgeting, financial analysis required
  • CPA Certification Preferred
  • Experience Managing a department
  • Proactive in identifying issues and implementing innovative solutions
  • Strong analytical, communication, and delegation skills
  • Strong decision-making skills...ability to use sound judgment and challenge assumptions when appropriate
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deliverables at one time.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems for the control of hospital assets and the preparation of complete and accurate financial information/records.
  • Manage budget preparations, rate revisions, and subsequent variance analysis with actuals
  • Maintenance of general ledger, preparation of quarterly wage reports, filing of quarterly wage reports
  • Develops, implements, and maintains entire budgeting process including monitoring and reporting hospital and departmental performance.
  • Provides financial analysis of operations to identify areas for cost reduction, improved cash flow, and revenue
  • enhancement
  • Provides timely, complete, and accurate financial reports and analyses for presentation to monthly Board of Trustee’s meetings
  • Supervise accounting, payroll, and accounts payable personnel.        
  • Perform variance analysis and interpret operating results as they affect financial aspects and make specific recommendations, which will result in cost reduction and profit improvement
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Ensure timely reporting and entry of financial data into our financial reporting systems

Foundation Director

Definition:

Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be responsible for the planning, administration, implementation, and management of initiatives designed to meet the development goals of the Wayne Foundation. Specific efforts include annual fund development, new donor development and cultivation, increasing awareness and giving among Darke County families and building tribute gifts.  This is a two – three day per week position for Wayne HealthCare.

Education & Qualification:

  • A Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Previous work experience managing and/or directing a major gifts department with demonstrated experience in securing major gifts, and working knowledge of planned gifts preferred.
  • Self starter and self motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening), and ability to work independently and as part of a team and relate with a diverse group of individuals and/or organizations.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Proven experience speaking in front of groups and facilitating meetings.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, good judgment, flexibility, discretion and decision making.
  • Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in board development to ensure that members of the Foundation Board are effective fundraisers and informed stewards of philanthropic assets.
  • Develop, implement and manage an ongoing communications program with internal and external constituencies to ensure understanding of fund raising goals and operational policies and procedures.
  • Develop annual budget and business plan with accountability for achievement of annual goals.
  • Manage a portfolio of top major donors, oversee stewardship of current donors, and lead a process to insure the building of a pipeline of major donor prospects.
  • Serve as lead on the Foundation Board.
  • Uphold the best interests of the Foundation by adhering to the highest standards of ethical and moral conduct.
  • Develop and implement year-round giving program.
  • Develop specific strategies to achieve maximum potential in high, medium, low and non-participating donors.
  • Evaluate, analyze and monitor donor and prospect data as a basis for strategizing, prioritizing and planning.
  • Maintain relationships with estate professional planning advisors, and other estate planning professionals.
