Rehabilitation

No Matter What…Still Treating

At Wayne HealthCare Outpatient Rehabilitation, our goal is to get you moving forward with your life. After a thorough examination, your therapist will develop a plan of care tailored to meet your specific needs. Our friendly and professional staff will help motivate you to achieve your optimal functional level. The Wayne HealthCare Rehabilitation Services team provides Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Therapy to help patients recover faster and, importantly, close to home. These services are provided to acute care patients admitted to the hospital.

Our friendly and professional front office staff will be happy to verify your insurance coverage and answer questions you may have.

We offer a unique approach to...

  • Fall Prevention: The fall prevention program is for older adults at risk of falling due to lower limb weakness, poor balance, slow reaction time or a combination of these symptoms.
  • Aquatic Therapy: This is another unique service we are able to offer our patients. The Aquaciser underwater treadmill can have many benefits for different conditions including arthritis, joint pain, back pain, and lower extremity conditions that benefit from unloading the joints.
  • Physiatry Services: Wayne HealthCare Outpatient Rehabilitation also offers Physiatry Services.

Our Rehabilitation Services

Our rehabilitation services typically consist of one or a combination of physical, speech, and occupational therapies, which involves:

  • Physical therapy – This program is aimed at overcoming physical and functional limitations caused by injury or illness. You and your therapist will work on improving strength and regaining full range-of-motion. You could think of this as a general strength recovery program.
  • Occupational therapy – While like physical therapy in that it is intended to rebuild strength, occupational therapy has more patient-specific goals. Occupational therapists learn more about your home and work life so they can direct treatment to address the functional limitations that prevent you from living your day-to-day activities.
  • Speech therapy – There are many conditions that can inhibit a patient’s ability to speak. Speech therapists assist patients in overcoming speech, language, and swallowing disorders.

Outpatient Rehabilitation Center

When additional therapy is needed upon dismissal, patients are given the option to continue therapy at our Outpatient Rehabilitation Center. Patients seeking care related to sports medicine may be referred to Wayne HealthSports for care.
