Quality Improvement Coordinator - Full Time, 1st Shift, 1.0FTE

Position:

This is a full time position reporting to the Director of Risk Management/Performance Improvement/ Regulatory Affairs. While the position is primary to dayshift it will require flexibility in schedule to accommodate alternate shift needs. The position coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital’s overall quality improvement program, which includes all ancillary, nursing, and medical staff departments to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure HFAP & CMS Hospital conditions of participation compliance. Serve as a working member of the quality council.

Qualifications:

  • Currently licensed to practice as an RN in the State of Ohio
  • BSN required
  • Previous experience in Quality Improvement preferred
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Three years clinical nursing experience, with one year in medical/surgical nursing preferred
  • Performance improvement experience and through knowledge of CMS/HFAP standards
  • Experience in data retrieval, statistics, forms design, and quality improvement techniques

Skill and Ability:

  • Participate in the writing of quality improvement policies and procedures based upon the clinical pathways
  • Maintain knowledge of CMS initiatives and react accordingly
  • Review and evaluate patients’ medical records; medical records chart review and data abstraction and submit data as required
  • Compile statistical data and write narrative reports summarizing quality improvement findings and develops actionable plans for improvement
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating QI activities and projects for a number of Medical committees
  • Complies and maintains annual QAPI report and plan
  • Facilitates and conducts education on Quality Improvement
  • Compile and maintain Quality Improvement reports per individual physicians for Physician Practice Profile
  • All other duties as assigned.
