Wayne HealthCare Receives Ohio Department of Health Cancer Screening Excellence Award

GREENVILLE, Ohio – Wayne HealthCare has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Health with the 2025 Cancer Screening Excellence Award, honoring employers that demonstrate a strong commitment to cancer prevention, early detection, and employee wellbeing.

The award is presented in partnership with the Healthy Business Council of Ohio and recognizes organizations that actively support preventive cancer screenings and remove barriers to accessing care. Wayne HealthCare earned the designation through its ongoing workplace wellness efforts and innovative cancer education initiatives.

As an accredited cancer program, Wayne HealthCare is committed to advancing cancer prevention and education throughout the community. Over the past year, the organization developed a unique educational escape room focused on the connection between alcohol consumption and cancer risk. The interactive experience was designed to engage participants in a fun and memorable way while increasing awareness of an often-overlooked cancer risk factor.

The program has already been shared with local high school students through partnerships with area MedTech programs and STEMM events. Wayne HealthCare plans to expand the initiative to employees and additional community groups in the future.

The Ohio Department of Health Cancer Screening Excellence Award recognizes Ohio employers that promote preventive screenings, provide access to wellness resources, and encourage early detection through workplace policies and programs.
