Emergency Department
We're here when you need us.
In March of 2010, Wayne ED moved from a 10 bed unit to a 19 bed department. This department includes state of the art equipment, computerized documentation systems to provide for faster, more efficient care, triage at the bedside, private rooms, and in a secure setting.
We understand that the quality of care we give inside the ED is what matters most. Our Emergency Department, in collaboration with Darke County EMS, and higher acuity facilities such as Miami Valley Hospital, Reid Hospital, and Kettering, has been able to offer a higher quality of care with the patient as the center of our focus. We are striving to not only meet but to exceed your personal expectations when you arrive for care at our facility.
- Arrival to EKG time with Chest Pain average is 9.51 minutes. National goal time is less than 10 minutes.
- Aspirin upon arrival on Chest Pain patients is given 100% of the time.
- Our average length of stay for our patients is 2 hours 35 minutes.
- Our average door to triage time is 7 minutes 46 seconds. Our goal is to have everyone triaged within 15 minutes of arrival.
If you haven’t used Wayne HealthCare ED or if you have not visited us in awhile, you will be surprised as to how far we have come from the 10 bed unit; we are no longer your local urgent care station. This ED handles medical emergencies from major traumas to a sore throat with quality, excellence, compassion, and expertise.
